Uptown Core is one of Oakville's more urban and mixed-use communities, where residential uses sit closer to commercial activity, services and higher-density development. The area has a more urban, mixed-use character, with housing located closer to retail, services, employment and higher-density development. Residents generally have more destinations concentrated within a smaller area, while apartments and condominiums tend to play a larger role in the housing mix. Oakville combines established neighbourhoods, newer growth communities, employment areas, parks and trails, with the Lake Ontario waterfront contributing strongly to the town's overall character.
