Mono Mills is a lower-density area in Caledon, with a more rural, open-space or countryside-oriented character than the municipality's conventional suburban neighbourhoods. This is a lower-density market area where larger lots, open land, conservation space or country roads may be more prominent than a conventional suburban street grid. Daily errands and commuting tend to be more car-oriented, while schools, shops and recreation can be spread across a wider geographic area. Caledon has a distinctly lower-density setting than most of the GTA, with countryside, village centres, conservation land and larger properties influencing everyday life.
